Uogashi Meicha

The famous tea of the sushi chefs’ favourite fish market

Sushi chefs buy fish every morning at the world’s largest fish market Tsukiji in Tokyo. That is where you also find the flagship store of the beloved tea manufacturer, Uogashi Meicha.

Uogashi Meicha was founded in 1931. The company has its own tea factory in Shizuoka-ken, which is the biggest area of tea production in Japan. The manufacturing process guarantees that Uogashi Meicha tea is always of fresh and reliable quality.

Uogashi Meicha packaging design is by the graphic designer Ryohei Kojima.

Tea is a wonderful gift.

In the past years Japanese tea has caught a lot of attention as a health drink. Green tea includes a lot of katekine, which lowers cholesterol and helps in losing weight. Katekine also prevents cancer. Green tea is rich in natural antioxidants.

You can drink Uogashi tea every day like coffee or black tea.

Uogashi tea is not a tea ceremony tea but an every day tea.

 Sencha

The most common Japanese tea. It has a fresh flavour and its fine balance of sweet and sour makes the taste elegant.

 Genmaicha

A delicious tea that has a clear first taste and the aromatic flavour of full corn rice. Hot water brings forward the taste and flavour of genmaicha.

 Houjicha

An especially aromatic flavour and a light and pure taste make houjicha a very likable tea to be consumed after meal. It has only a little caffeine, so you can drink it in the evening time too.
