Tsubame notebook

Our pride abroad: The notebook made in Japan

Those who know, know it. Those who don't know have at least seen it. Practically all Japanese have held this notebook in their hands, even if it is without knowing.

The dignified looking design of the cover dates from 1947. It has been slightly changed during the course of over 50 years, but the atmosphere of the design has been kept unchanged.

The most important factor of the Tsubame note quality is the use of neutral fools paper. Fool paper has a fine surface that guarantees a superior writing pleasure and preservation. The ink doesn't blot or show through on fools paper and and pen slides well on it. It is a very high quality paper manufactured for writing. It has been manufactured with time and care like Japanese paper. It is said to be the best paper for writing by fountain pen.

Tsubame note's pages are lightly lined with hand drawn lines. Ink doesn't pluck the lines when you write with a fountain pen.

The notebooks are hand binded.

The famous director Akira Kurosawa used Tsubame notebooks for his own film script notes. The French fashion deisgner Agnes B ordered some special notebooks about 20 years ago. Tsubame notebooks are also sold at The Conran Shop.

Tsubame note is a Japanese notebook, with many fans in Europe and America too.
